People Creating Value sponsors ‘Toppers From Twente’

29 May 2012

Next to being a design consultancy firm specialized in integral product development for various disciplines, People Creating Value is also a warm supporter of charity sports events. Recently, a team of experienced cyclists decided to take part in the ‘Tour For Life’ to help raise money for Doctors Without Borders/ Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). The team, which is known as the ‘Toppers from Twente’, can count on our active support. In the first place, because of our deep admiration for the work carried out by MSF, and secondly, because athletic partner of one of our employees is part of the Toppers team!

The Tour for Life is an eight-day cycling tour. Some 80 teams are expected to gather at the start. Next to paying an entry fee, each team is required to raise at least € 15,000 in sponsorship money, as well. The funds raised will all go to MSF. Worldwide, MSF offers urgent medical care to victims of disasters, wars and epidemics. Together with aid workers from the relevant affected countries themselves, doctors, nurses, lab technicians and psychologists provide much-needed care and support to the local population. They carry out emergency surgery, and treat people with serious illnesses such as malaria and tuberculosis. Thanks to the Tour for Life riders, even more people around the world can count on receiving high-quality medical care.

On 26 august 2012, the starting shot will be fired in the northern Italian mountain village of Bardonecchia. On 2 September, eight arduous stages later, the tour will finish on the Cauberg in Valkenburg, after around 1300 kilometers of pedaling and 19000 meters of elevation through the French Alps, the Jura mountains, the Vosges mountains and the Belgian Ardennes mountains. Highly motivated and well prepared, the Toppers from Twente team, composed of nine riders and 2 staff, will present themselves at the starting line on 26 August. People Creating Value is proud to contribute to this effort, and wishes the members of the Toppers team the best of luck during their training and the tour itself in August and September.
