Rising raw materials prices combined with rollar coaster prices are causing anxious sweats in processors and manufacturers worldwide. These are issues affecting raw materials of all kind: plastics, textiles, but also rare earth metals.
Today, it’s becoming increasingly important to pursue a responsible course in the use of raw materials. The focus of the seminar “Design in a recycling context, critical materials and Cradle-tot-Cradle” is therefore on the need for sustainable raw materials management in design and the development of corresponding business models.
The agenda features the following speakers: Jan-Henk Welink, of Delft University, who will examine the topic “Design for Recyclability” and business models for responsible raw materials management; David Peck, also of Delft University, who will address the issues ““Material criticality, design and possible adaption of the eco-design methods”; Marten Toxopeus, of Twente University, on Design in a Recycling Context; and Diana den Held (Academic Chair Cradle-to-Cradle, Erasmus University), who will present a business case dealing with C2C projects.
The (Dutch-language) seminar will take place on February 29th, from 13:45 – 16:45, in Building 3mE, room F, Delft University. Admission is free, but please register in advance at j.h.welink@tudelft.nl
